In Tokyo, 1980’s art was determined by materialistic values. And there, she threw herself into giving an avant-garde thrust to convention. At her first exhibition in 1983, the avant-garde art critic Yoshida Yoshie wrote at the time : "A breath of freedom has just come again to shake artistic way of thinking… we had to wait for a young Franco-Israeli artist to come and bring us back to life."
